Christian Höpperger was most recently responsible for Indirect Sales and Key Account Management at an IT start-up in Vienna. With his keen eye for customers and markets, he is driving the further development of Mergeport.
David Unterholzner comes from management and strategy consulting and has been working with POS software since 2015. At Mergeport he takes care of the management and the good café in our office.
Erik Norman worked until 2018 at the POS hardware manufacturer Orderman GmbH (NCR) as Technical Consultant and Product Manager . He is an designated expert regarding POS Software and interfaces.

Mergeport is a middleware that connects cash registers (POS systems) and external solutions (apps) with each other. This can be hardware (e.g. payment terminals), additional software (e.g. analysis software) or web services (e.g. order portals). Mergeport standardizes this data so that everyone can handle it more easily and makes the apps available to POS retailers. Similar to a marketplace or an app store. The retailer can simply resell the software to his/her customers.
Mergeport uses standard technologies (Rest-Api) to connect to cash registers. Once a system is connected to Mergeport, a connection to all partners in the network can be realized.
Nothing for now. The connection to POS systems and apps costs nothing. Mergeport only earns money if software or an interface is actually sold to a customer in the gastronomy sector.

Software houses must connect to each app individually. Research, communication, implementation and testing of the interface take up a lot of time and resources. Although many POS systems are already connected to apps, many additional solutions will be added in the future. With a connection to Mergeport, many apps can be covered.
